SEO Audit Results: Solar Energy Site, Dashboard Platform & Visa Service — What the Scores Reveal

In this edition of our ongoing real-world SEO audit series, we examine three websites from three completely different industries — a solar energy specialist in Morocco, a French data dashboard platform, and a UK-based visa services company currently in maintenance mode. All three were scanned using Smart SEO Pro, our free 40-factor website SEO scanner.

The scores range from 57 to 69 — a tightly packed middle ground that reveals something important: mid-range SEO scores are often the most interesting, because the gaps between a C and an A are rarely about major overhauls. They’re about a handful of targeted, high-leverage fixes. Let’s break each one down.

Websites Audited in This Edition

WebsiteIndustryScoreGrade
energize.maSolar Energy / Morocco69/100C
geoxal.comData Dashboards / France58/100D
globalaxisvisa.comVisa Services / UK57/100D

Three sites sitting between 57 and 69 — none catastrophically broken, none close to optimal. This is where most of the web lives, and where the biggest ranking gains are available with the least effort.

Audit #1: energize.ma — Score 69/100 (Grade C)

Energize is a Moroccan company specialising in solar panels and photovoltaic materials, serving cities including Marrakech, Agadir, Casablanca, and Chichaoua. The renewable energy sector is one of the fastest-growing industries in North Africa, making strong SEO visibility particularly valuable for companies like Energize competing for high-intent search traffic.

A score of 69/100 puts Energize solidly in C territory — decent foundations, but a cluster of fixable issues preventing a B or A grade.

What the Audit Found

Critical: No H1 Heading. Despite having nine H2 subheadings — an unusually strong subheading structure — the page has no H1 at all. This is the single most impactful on-page SEO error a website can have. The H1 is the primary keyword signal for the entire page. Without it, Google has no clear anchor for what the page is about. For a solar energy company, a well-crafted H1 such as “Expert Solar Panel Installation in Morocco — Marrakech, Agadir & Casablanca” would immediately strengthen keyword relevance for high-value local search terms. As Moz’s on-page SEO guide explains, the H1 is among the first elements crawlers use to determine page relevance.

Warning: Page Title Too Long (65 characters). The current title “ENERGIZE | Experts en Panneaux Solaires, Matériel Photovoltaïques” is 65 characters — five over Google’s 60-character truncation threshold. In French-language search results, this will be cut off before the end, losing both the keyword “Photovoltaïques” and the brand’s professional presentation. Trimming to something like “ENERGIZE | Panneaux Solaires & Matériel PV — Maroc” keeps it under 60 characters while preserving keyword richness.

Warning: Meta Description Too Short (69 characters). The current meta description reads “Nous sommes en bonne compagnie. Marrakech Agadir Casablanca Chichaoua” — just 69 characters. Google recommends 120–155 characters to fully utilise the SERP snippet space. The current description doesn’t include a value proposition, a call to action, or any keyword targeting beyond city names. A rewritten description covering solar panel installation, photovoltaic expertise, and a service area call-to-action would dramatically improve click-through rates from French-language search results.

Warning: No GZIP/Brotli Compression. The site is serving uncompressed HTML — meaning every visitor downloads a larger page than necessary. Enabling GZIP compression at the server level reduces HTML payloads by 60–80%, improving page load speeds for all visitors including those on mobile connections in regional Moroccan cities.

Warning: No Cache-Control Header. No browser caching policy is in place. For a solar energy company where potential customers often research across multiple sessions before requesting a quote, caching is particularly important — it ensures returning visitors get a fast, smooth experience rather than re-downloading all assets from scratch.

Info: No External Links. The page contains no outbound links to external authority sources. For a company in the renewable energy space, linking to credible bodies like IRENA (International Renewable Energy Agency) or Morocco’s national energy agency would strengthen E-E-A-T signals and demonstrate topical authority to both users and search engines.

What’s Working Well

✅ Canonical URL correctly set. ✅ HTTPS enabled. ✅ robots.txt found. ✅ XML sitemap present and submitted. ✅ All 19 images have alt text — excellent image SEO. ✅ Strong internal linking (70 links). ✅ 453 words of content — approaching a solid word count. ✅ Full Open Graph (4/4) tags implemented. ✅ Twitter Card configured. ✅ JSON-LD schema markup in place. ✅ HTML language set to French (fr-FR). ✅ Mobile viewport correctly configured.

Energize has genuinely strong foundations — schema, OG tags, sitemap, alt texts, and canonical URL are all in place. The path to a B grade is short: add an H1, fix the title length, expand the meta description, and enable GZIP compression.

Priority Fix Plan

  1. Add a single H1 heading targeting “panneaux solaires Maroc” or equivalent primary keyword — this alone could move the needle significantly
  2. Shorten the page title to under 60 characters while keeping core keywords
  3. Expand the meta description to 120–155 characters with a clear value proposition and call to action in French
  4. Enable GZIP compression on the web server — a one-time server configuration change
  5. Set Cache-Control headers on static assets
  6. Add 2–3 external links to authority sources in the renewable energy space

Audit #2: geoxal.com — Score 58/100 (Grade D)

Geoxal is a French company offering dashboard and data visualisation solutions — the page title translates to “Tableaux de bord” (Dashboards). Operating in the B2B data intelligence space, Geoxal’s potential customers are decision-makers searching for business intelligence tools, custom dashboards, and data reporting platforms — a highly competitive and high-value search category.

A score of 58/100 and a D grade points to a site with a reasonable technical base but a series of structural SEO problems that collectively suppress its search visibility.

What the Audit Found

Critical: Missing Meta Description. No meta description is present. For a B2B company where the sales cycle involves research, comparison, and multiple touchpoints, the SERP snippet is often the first impression a decision-maker has of your business. Without a compelling meta description, Google will pull arbitrary text — typically the first few lines of body copy — which rarely communicates a clear value proposition. According to Google’s snippet documentation, pages with well-written meta descriptions consistently achieve higher click-through rates than those without.

Warning: Page Title Too Short (16 characters). “Tableaux de bord” is only 16 characters — well under the 30–60 character recommended range. This is a significant missed opportunity. The title is essentially a generic French phrase for “dashboards” with no brand name, no differentiator, and no additional keyword context. A title like “Geoxal | Tableaux de Bord & Solutions BI sur Mesure” would be far more effective for both brand recognition and keyword targeting.

Warning: Multiple H1 Tags (3 found). The page has three H1 headings — “Nos services,” “Nos produits,” and “Ils nous ont fait confiance” (Our services, Our products, They trusted us). Having multiple H1s dilutes keyword signals and makes it impossible for search engines to identify the page’s primary topic. Every page must have exactly one H1 that captures the core keyword intent. The other two should be converted to H2 tags.

Warning: 1 Image Missing Alt Text. A Facebook pixel tracking image (facebook.com/tr) has no alt text. While invisible tracking pixels don’t need descriptive alt text from a user perspective, adding alt="" (an empty alt attribute) tells screen readers and crawlers to ignore it — which is the correct technical implementation.

Warning: 29 Script Tags. Twenty-nine JavaScript files are loading on the page — above the recommended threshold. This includes the Facebook tracking pixel which alone typically adds 2–3 script dependencies. Bundling and deferring non-critical scripts would improve Core Web Vitals performance.

Warning: No XML Sitemap. No sitemap.xml was found. For a B2B company with service pages, product pages, and case study content, a sitemap is essential for ensuring Google discovers and indexes the full content footprint. Submitting a sitemap via Google Search Console is a quick win that immediately improves crawl coverage.

Warning: No Schema Markup. No JSON-LD structured data found. For a B2B SaaS or services company, Organization, SoftwareApplication, and Service schema types are directly applicable and could unlock rich results and knowledge panel entries in Google Search.

Info: Missing HTML lang Attribute. The <html> tag has no lang attribute. For a French-language site, this should be lang="fr" — it affects both Google’s language processing and hreflang handling if the site ever adds multilingual content.

What’s Working

✅ HTTPS enabled. ✅ HTTP 200 response — site fully accessible. ✅ Canonical URL set correctly. ✅ GZIP compression active. ✅ robots.txt present. ✅ Strong internal linking (53 links) and external linking (7 links). ✅ Full Open Graph (4/4) tags implemented. ✅ Mobile viewport correctly configured.

Priority Fix Plan

  1. Write a meta description of 120–155 characters in French targeting dashboard and BI keywords with a clear value proposition
  2. Expand the page title to 50–60 characters including the brand name and primary keywords
  3. Consolidate to a single H1 — choose the most keyword-relevant heading and convert the other two to H2 tags
  4. Fix the Facebook pixel alt attribute — add alt="" to the tracking image
  5. Generate and submit an XML sitemap to Google Search Console
  6. Add lang="fr" to the HTML tag
  7. Implement Organisation and Service schema in JSON-LD
  8. Add Twitter Card tags to complete social sharing coverage

Audit #3: globalaxisvisa.com — Score 57/100 (Grade D)

Global Axis Visa Services is a UK-based visa consultancy — but at the time of our audit, the site was displaying a “Coming Soon / Under Maintenance” page. The page title itself reads “Global Axis Visa Services – Under Maintenance,” and the H1 heading is simply “Coming Soon.” This context is critical for understanding the score.

A score of 57/100 for a maintenance page is actually relatively good — it suggests the underlying site infrastructure is solid. But maintenance pages carry their own SEO risks that every website owner needs to understand.

What the Audit Found

Critical: Missing Meta Description. The maintenance page has no meta description. While this is understandable for a temporary holding page, if the maintenance page is being indexed by Google — which is possible given it returns a 200 HTTP status code — then Google may surface it in search results with no snippet context at all.

Warning: Missing Canonical Tag. No canonical URL is set. This is particularly important for a maintenance page — without a canonical tag pointing to the eventual live homepage URL, Google may establish an index entry for the maintenance page itself, which can create confusion when the real site goes live.

Warning: No Internal Links. The maintenance page links to no other pages on the site. This means any crawl budget Google spends on this page results in a complete dead-end — it cannot discover any other content, services pages, or blog posts that may already exist on the domain.

Warning: Thin Content (44 words). Only 44 words on the page — expected for a coming soon page, but worth addressing. The maintenance period is an opportunity to add at least a brief, keyword-rich description of what the service offers, an email capture form for launch notifications, and links to any social profiles.

Warning: No Cache-Control Header. No browser caching policy in place. Even for a holding page, setting a short cache duration (e.g. max-age=300) avoids unnecessary repeat-requests to the server.

Warning: No Open Graph Tags. All four OG tags are missing. If someone shares the coming soon page on LinkedIn or Facebook — which visa consultancies’ potential clients are likely to do — the link will appear as a plain text URL with no image, title, or description preview.

Warning: No Schema Markup. No JSON-LD found. Even on a maintenance page, basic Organization schema with the company name, country, and service type would help Google understand the business context from day one.

The Bigger SEO Risk: Maintenance Pages and Google Indexation

The most important issue here isn’t any individual audit flag — it’s the fact that the site is returning a 200 HTTP status code on a maintenance page. This tells Google “this is a normal, indexable page” — which means Google may index “Coming Soon | Global Axis Visa Services” as the site’s primary entry in search results.

The correct approach for maintenance pages is to return a 503 Service Unavailable status with a Retry-After header — this tells Googlebot the page is temporarily unavailable and to come back later, without risking indexation of the holding page. As Google’s HTTP status code documentation confirms, a 503 with Retry-After is the recommended approach for planned maintenance windows.

What’s Working

✅ HTTPS enabled. ✅ HTTP 200 status — server is running correctly. ✅ robots.txt present. ✅ XML sitemap found — indicating a previously live site with structured content. ✅ GZIP compression active. ✅ HTML language set to English. ✅ Mobile viewport configured. ✅ The single image on the page has alt text.

Priority Fix Plan

  1. Switch the maintenance page to return HTTP 503 with a Retry-After header — prevents Google from indexing the holding page
  2. Add a canonical tag pointing to the future live homepage URL
  3. Add a brief meta description describing the visa services offered, even on the holding page
  4. Expand the holding page content — add a service description, contact email, and social media links to provide value and crawlable context
  5. Implement Open Graph tags so social shares display correctly
  6. Add Organisation schema with company name, country, and service type in JSON-LD
  7. When the site launches — ensure all pages have H1 tags, meta descriptions, canonical URLs, and full Open Graph implementation from day one

What This Batch Teaches Us: The Mid-Range SEO Problem

All three sites in this audit sit in the 57–69 range — the mid-tier zone where most websites get stuck. Unlike low-scoring sites with catastrophic issues (server errors, NOINDEX directives, broken crawls), mid-range sites have working infrastructure but are losing ranking potential to a combination of smaller, fixable issues stacking up across categories.

The H1 Problem Is Industry-Agnostic

Two of the three sites in this batch have H1 issues — energize.ma has none at all, while geoxal.com has three. Across all 15 websites we’ve now audited in this series, H1 errors have appeared in over half. It remains one of the most commonly missed on-page fundamentals, despite being one of the easiest to fix. Every page needs exactly one H1. No exceptions.

Maintenance Pages Are an SEO Blind Spot

GlobalAxisVisa.com highlights a risk many website owners don’t think about: what happens to your SEO during a site rebuild or maintenance window? If your holding page returns a 200 status code, Google may index it and replace your real site’s rankings with a “Coming Soon” entry. Always use 503 with Retry-After during maintenance — it’s the difference between a temporary pause and a ranking reset.

Strong Foundations Don’t Guarantee Strong Rankings

Energize.ma is a perfect example of this. The site has schema markup, OG tags, a sitemap, 19 alt-text-covered images, and HTTPS — yet it only scores 69/100 because of a missing H1, an oversized title, and a weak meta description. Three targeted fixes could push it to 85+ without touching the site’s design or content structure. Mid-range SEO is often about precision, not overhauls.
